Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Excellent atmosphere with a nice outdoor section with a TV and great audio. Not a big outside but it's also smoker friendly for those who need it. Cajun burger was outstanding and the salsa is homemade and great. Service was also excellent. New summer spot for us.

Wow... Did you hear that? Amici's just dropped the ball. Now I must admit, I have been there previously and had a fairly good meal (Pasta with Vodka Cream), but my latest experience was one of the worst I have had ANYWHERE! For starters we walked in and there is like a gift bag pick up for a sponsored run? Not a big deal, if anything one would assume that with all the traffic, they would be fully staffed because common sense would tell you that some people would come pick up their gift bag and stay for a meal...... My wife, daughter and parents were seated by the hostess, who returned shortly and said she would be our waitress. We up our drink orders in and two orders of pretzels appetizers. Our drinks arrived and we ordered our entries, along with a side salad and soup which accompanied our meals.. then we waited... and waited.. my salad arrived and as mentioned in the previous review.. was soaking wet and swimming in balsamic dressing.. No joke. Swimming. The soup had no flavor. So we waited.. and waited and nearly 45min after we ordered.. our pretzel app came out, we ordered another round of drinks and asked about the delay.."someone stole my order of pretzels" and waited. and waited. finally at around the hour and a half mark my father told our waitress that if the food isn't in, we are leaving. She assured us the food would be out in five mine.. 17min later (we timed it) we told the manager we were leaving, she apologized and said they were understaffed blah blah blah, my mother rightfully explained that that was not her problem and waiting and hour 45min for a meal is unacceptable. They gave us our food (to go) and said they would comp one round of drinks. It didn't end there.. she gave my mother a receipt that said $67.00 that was not itemized.. we did the math.. there was not comp of drinks.. we paid for every terrible thing we endured. Oh, and the food we brought home? Terrible. Going to be hard for me to ever go back.

Last week, my family and I went to grab some lunch at Amici's. There was about 10 of us, and the place was rather empty. Two other tables eating (both tables of 2 if I remember correctly), and then a few people at the bar. We've gone to Amici's as a family for a while now, and each time, it's gotten progressively worse. Service was absolutely horrible. Plates came out one by one, and a few of them were not correct. My fish sandwich came out dead last - and after everyone was done eating. Apparently a fork was dropped in the fryer, so the oil had to be changed - and it took quite a bit for us to get that story. We had asked to speak to the manager about the poor service, but she wouldn't even come out to us! The sandwiches and wraps were not even that great - not enough meat. Pasta is pretty decent there, though - I will give them that. And their half-priced pizza night (Wed?) is worth it. Other than that, stay away....especially if you are in a large group. They are just not able to handle it. As a side note, the fish sandwich was removed from the bill.

Don't go unless you are not hungry. Went last night with my wife, daughter, dad, brother and his gal. Not a huge party by any means. We ordered and waited over an hour for our food. After being fed up with waiting I approached the bar and spoke with a man who was apparently the owner. I explained my dissatisfaction with the loooooong wait time. He said everything is cooked fresh. Then immediately our food came out. Coincidence? So my chicken parm sandwich was very good. But my fries came out cold. I made the waitress touch the cold fries and her response was oh they are warm. Yea ok. No, I didn't eat the fries. Waitress didn't bring fresh fries. Manager lady came over and did ZERO! Ok, not wasting anymore time on this place. Good food, loooooooooooong wait time. DONT GO!

Because I liked the food, I tried to give Amici's a second try.... Big mistake. First off, we had to wait about an hour for our food. I mean from the time we actually placed the order, not from the time we got there. Service was SLOW. I finally got my fish tacos and after a bite, immediately regretted not getting the Gnocchi I had ordered the first time. The Tilapia in the tacos was extremely fishy, definitely not fresh. My husband's French fries were cold. When my husband brought all of this to the owner/manager's attention she didn't care and actually tried to argue how long it took to get our food out. Hey Amici's, just a little tip: if you're gonna try to BS your customers on the ordering times, you should probably take down the big Stella clock you have hanging on the wall. I would not have paid such close attention if that wasn't staring me right in my face. All of this occurred and the place wasn't even that full! The entire experience was insulting and I will never ever go back.

Was going out with a group to the South Elgin Fest for 7th Heaven and decided to grab some food before we went. Amici's had been bookmarked for a few months so it was a winner for dinner. We walked right in and were seated. The waitress came over and asked what we wanted to drink and gave us menus. Our drinks came out very fast and we weren't ready with our food order yet, so she gave us a few more minutes. The menu has a lot of choices, but some of them seem a little pricey for a bar if you were not just ordering a burger...the one pasta dish was more expensive then a salad....kinda weird to me. Also, if you wanted to have soup instead of fries you had to pay an extra $2.50....yeah no thanks! I ended up getting the turkey burger with fries. The turkey burger was good, nothing crazy amazing about it and the fries were steak fries that came out hot and actually crispy and not all squishy like they usually are. All in all I would maybe go back if someone else wanted to try it. The drinks are a little pricey too!!

Below average food...not sure what's going on I the kitchen but there are a lot of misses! For drinks this place is ok but if you are hungry I'd rather go to a chained restaurant and that's saying A LOT! Buddy ordered the Philly cheesesteak and it was more dried out than a Nuns C---! Yeah I just said that. The fries were barely warm and not salted. There are 7 people in the bar the fries should be pipping hot and seasoned to perfection. Ordered the spicy calamari as the bartender told me it's really good. The dish was lacking to say the least it was purely one dimensional and flavors were muted by the tortilla chips that over powered the dish. I feel like this dish was created in college by a bunch of drunk college guys that thought it was great ona drunken blender and now he is the owner of the bar. Ditch this dish because my stomach has been rocked all night by it! Calamari has to be frozen because I'm sure they don't turn enough of it for it to be actually fresh. Should have taken that into consideration when ordering.... Had a pizza to go if this place has anything going for itself it is the average pizza which saved the rating of 1 star. It wasn't great by any means but it was at least edible.

I absolutely love their pizza! Another favorite is their sausage, peppers and potatoes. We always have great service. Waitresses and bartenders are always refilling drinks quickly. It's a great place to catch a football or hockey game! If I have one complaint, it's an Italian restaurant, Serve warm bread before and with the meal. Other than that, I love this place!

Food is good, service is fair. We have been there twice and both times they are out of artificial sweetener for iced tea. What kind of restaurant is continually out of a common staple? Target is up the street, they do not care enough about their patrons to make an effort.
